National Trails Conference comes to Kentucky for the first time, hosted by the Kentucky Horse Council.
The Southeast Equestrian Trails Confereence (SETC), the largest equestrian trails conference in the U.S., will be hosted by Kentucky in 2012.
The purpose of SETC is to bring together people who are concerned about the future of the natural and cultural heritage of the trail experience from the back of a horse. SETC strives for equestrian self-evaluation, learning, and the development of a conservation force that will influence land-use policies at local, state, regional, and national levels.
While the SETC began with a focus on the issues surrounding the use of horses on trails in the southeastern United States, the SETC Advisory Committee voted in 2011 to expand the conference into a national conference. Status of this change will be announced in 2012 at the Kentucky conference.
The Kentucky Horse Council welcomes trail riders, state and local land managers, and federal land managers to join the planning committee to make sure that this conference is a positive reflection of Kentucky's dedication to the heritage of the horse in natural places.
