Each year the Kentucky Horse Council holds an Annual Meeting for all members. This annual meeting is usually held in the late fall.

Annual elections are held at the meeting for the upcoming year's board members and officers; in addition there are educational speakers, a meal, and often a silent auction and/or door prizes.

2007 ANNUAL MEETING

The 2007 Annual Meeting was held on November 4, 2007 at the Embassy Suites in Lexington, Kentucky with over 100 people in attendance.  Registrants learned about the status on the bill to eliminate tax from horse feed and viewed an exciting video on the 2010 World Equestrian Games.  Breakout Sessions featured:

• GPS technology use for trail riders
• Trail Certification, Friends of the Trail, and Ride Kentucky
• The Northern Kentucky Horse Network Story
• Breeders Incentive Program Update
• Proposed Changes in Equine Health Paper Requirements
• Land Conservation Resource “Where will you ride tomorrow?”

On behalf of the Grant Committee Hugh Bellis-Jones recognized Richard Schuler and Frankie Cambron for their contribution to the grant evaluation process.    The Trail Master of the Year Award was presented to Buck Winburn. Additionally seven board members were elected to the Kentucky Horse Council Board of Directors.
