| Communications/Marketing |
Loeser, Margie |
The Communications/Marketing Committee generates ideas for increased awareness of KHC through an online presence both through the website and social media, promotional materials, logo wear, trade fair participation, retail items, advertisements, and other opportunities. It also coordinates programs to communicate with the general public, local officials, legislators and members. |
| Competition |
Leshney, Kristin |
The Competition Committee develops programs that help horse shows and competitions increase participation and remain financially viable. Members of this committee include those who compete, and trainers and instructors who are involved in competitions at all levels and in all disciplines. |
| Finance/Development |
Kuster, Ted |
The Finance Committee oversees the management of KHC assets, including routinely reviewing financial procedures and processes, maximizing returns on cash investments, establishing the desired level of funding with a 5 year horizon, and assessing funding sources and recommending additional sources of funding. Members of this committee include the Board Treasurer (chair) and other Board members (limited to board members).

| Membership | Jackson, Lisa
| The Membership Committee is tasked with identifying ways to increase KHC membership through various avenues including membership benefits, KHC offerings, promotional items, etc. Broadening the KHC membership base is the primary goal of the Membership Committee. Additionally the Membership Committee regularly evaluates membership rates (limited to board members).

| Health & Welfare |
Whitman, Dr. Jeremy |
The KHC Health & Welfare Committee is charged with developing programs and educational material to support the health and welfare of Kentucky horses. Members of the committee are representatives from the health and welfare industries. Each member of the committee is either affiliated with or employed by an organization that provides health and humane services and oversight such as the Kentucky Veterinary Medical Association, Kentucky Animal Care and Control Association, Kentucky Humane, and etc. The committee also works with legislators and state agency staff to educate them about the unique needs of Kentucky’s equines. |
| Trails |
Barbour, Steve |
The Trail Committee’s mission is to create an environment which supports the development, maintenance and sustainability of horse trails in the Commonwealth. The committee’s efforts also include education for trail riders and trail associations to encourage good trail behavior, strong land manager partnerships and support of multi-user efforts. Finally, the committee works with legislators and state agency staff to ensure that the regulatory and statutory environment in Kentucky is supportive of horse trails. | | Personnel | Zinkhon, Anna
| The Personnel Committee develops personnel policies for KHC staff, hires and evaluates the Executive Director, and consults with the Executive Director on personnel issues. Members of this committee are appointed by the President (limited to board members).
| | Outreach | Hopkins, Kathy
| The Outreach Committee is tasked with providing information and education to both horse owners and non-horse owners. The Outreach Committee defines and implements educational programs through offerings in the classroom, online, publications, and at events. In addition, the Outreach Committee promotes youth involvement with horses by providing educational information, programs, and youth awards. Historically the 4-H Horse Programs have been strongly supported by the Kentucky Horse Council; US Pony Club and FFA are also supported. Members of the committee are horse owners and educators with a passion for spreading equine knowledge and developing the next generation of horse enthusiasts.
