Lexington, KY, March 25, 2009 - The Kentucky Horse Council (KHC) is partnering with Equestrian Professional.com to offer an interactive seminar on developing and implementing marketing strategies for the equestrian business on April 21, 2009. The course will be taught by longtime horse professional and Equestrian Business and Marketing Consultant Elisabeth McMillan.
McMillan is the Editor in Chief of Equestrian Professional.com, a website that provides support to horse business owners and professional equestrian athletes. With over 25 years of experience that ranges from "A" circuit competition to driving tractors to importing horses to professional consulting, McMillan is poised and eager to help the equestrian professional.
The two hour workshop includes a combination of seminar presentations and interactive activities. The bulk of the training is hands-on and participants will be divided into small teams to focus on developing horse business profit development and marketing strategies. Attendees will be challenged to go home with a plan - even if it is just a rough draft.
Marketing Your Equestrian Business is the first in a series of educational programs planned by the Kentucky Horse Council to develop business skills for equestrian entrepreneurs. As an educational organization, the Kentucky Horse Council supports the development of successful horse businesses through this and other classes in the "Professional Horsemen's Series".
"Marketing is an integral part of any business plan and too often we see talented equine professionals struggle with their businesses because of a poor understanding of how to market themselves and their business," KHC Board President Madelyn Millard commented. "This course will allow equine professionals to take home an idea which they can put to use and see results."
Marketing for the Equestrian Business will be held at the Fayette County Extension Office from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. on April 21, 2009. The course is offered to current KHC members at $10 each, $15 for non-members. Class size is limited and available on a first come first served basis. Early registration is recommended and encouraged. For more information or to attend this class visit www.kentuckyhorse.org or call 859-367-0509.
