Day 1 — Horse Handling (optional)

 

  • An in Depth Look at Horse Behavior

  • Handling Difficult Horses Using Restraints and Other Methods

  • Trailer Considerations & Loading the Difficult Horse – loading loose horses

  • Handling & Care of the Fractious Horse

  • Identifying & Addressing Common Horse Ailments

 

 

Day 2 — Livestock Handling & Cruelty Investigation

 

  • Understanding Ruminant & Swine Behavior

  • Approaching, Moving, & Loading Livestock

  • Body Condition Scoring Smaller Ruminants & Swine

  • Body Condition Scoring Cattle

  • Acceptable Standards of Care for Ruminants & Swine

    • Appropriate containment & equipment for Ruminants & Swine

    • Normal handling equipment & use

    • Farrowing crates & gestation pens, etc.

  • Re-feeding Cattle & Other Ruminants
