The Kentucky Horse Council Grant Fund is established to provide KHC members with a cohesive funding vehicle to financially support equine education projects within the state of Kentucky. Funds typically will be used for programs that are dedicated to:
- Developing education programs focusing on equine management, health and welfare
- Educating horse owners and the general public about equine rescue and disaster recovery programs
- Encouraging the use of the horse as a therapeutic resource
- Encouraging the safe use of the horse on both trails and in the show ring
- Encouraging projects and events that educate the community about the equine industry of Kentucky
Recipients of funds are required to provide interim and final reports to the Grants Committee.
This proposal and reporting process is not intended to over-constrain or add unnecessary delay. However due to the schedule of our Board meetings at which grant applications are approved we strongly suggest the all applications be submitted at least three (3) months prior to the beginnning of the project. If you have any questions regarding this procedure, please contact the Grant Committee Chair or any member of Board for clarification. There are probably areas where the proposal process can be improved, so don't hesitate to pass your suggestion to the Kentucky Horse Council Grant Committee.
