The Kentucky Horse Council regularly works with student interns both from local Kentucky colleges and from out of state institutions. Internships with the Kentucky Horse Council are unpaid but provide an array of experiences and the opportunity to meet industry leaders and develop a network of contacts.
Interns typically work on at least one significant project (about 35% of duties) and provide administrative support (about 40% of duties). As schedules allow interns are encouraged to attend meetings at the National Horse Center, KENA, and other KHC meetings (about 25% of duties).
Internships can be coordinated around the student schedule. Often multiple interns are engaged in a variety of tasks concurrently and may be asked to work together on special projects or events.
