Horses being transported within the state of Kentucky require a current negative coggins test (within 12 months) and a certificate of veterinary inspection (CVI), also known as a health certificate. In state health certificates are valid for up to 12 months or until the coggins test expires.
EXCEPTION: horses travelling from farm to farm
only or from the farm to the veterinarian

Horses Travelling Into Kentucky
Horses being transported into or through the state of Kentucky must have a current negative coggins test (within 12 months) and a certificate of veterinary inspection (CVI), also known as a health certificate. Out of state health certificates are valid for up to 30 days and shall state the location of origination and final destination.

Equine Passport - Equine Interstate Event Permit
Horses may travel in, to and through Kentucky with a current equine passport (including negative coggins test within 6 months) from the following states: AL, FL, GA, KY, LA, MS, NC, OK, SC, TN, VA, WV.
