Advocacy and Position Statements |
The legislative process is a mystery to many people. Often it seems inaccessible to the "ordinary horse owner", who does not have the time or inclination to stay abreast of political maneuverings, sub committee hearings, and the detailed language of a bill when it is introduced.
Yet bills that are introduced in Frankfort and in Washington DC may have both positive and negative effects on our ability to own, breed and enjoy horses, as well as to operate businesses in the horse industry. Those bills are not always promoted by groups that understand horses, so we need to be vigilant.
One of the Kentucky Horse Council's roles is to keep you, the Kentucky horse owner, informed of any legislation that may affect the equine community.
We will do this by sending notices to our Kentucky Horseowner email list (subscribe below), and by posting updates to this website.
