Partnering with the Kentucky Horse Council

The best work is done in teams. Partnerships with other organizations and businesses enables the Kentucky Horse Council to tackle larger projects than its own resources allow.

By matching goals and causes, a partnership can use the strengths of both the Horse Council and its partner to work on a significant project together. The contributions of each partner vary; sometimes it is knowledge, sometimes specialized skills.  It might be that one partner has the right contacts or the right administrative capacity.

Successful partnerships create progress in the equine industry and leave it better than before.

Partnerships are initiated both by the Kentucky Horse Council and interested organizations. Some examples of past partnerships include

  • Working with the University of Kentucky to implement the 2012 Kentucky Equine Survey
  • Working with the KY Department of Agriculture to define the Kentucky Proud Equine program
  • Working with KEEP to develop and run the Annual Kentucky Trail Summit
  • Work with the Kentucky Horse Park to offer the City Slickers program to families

If you have an equine project in mind for which the Kentucky Horse Council might be an appropriate partner, please contact the KHC office. They will put you in touch with the Executive Director or board leadership to further discuss the possibilities.
