|KHC Membership Details|
Joining the Kentucky Horse Council is a way to support the Kentucky equine industry and the horses which provide so much pleasure to us. As an added bonus, you will receive membership perks that benefit you or your organization.
There are five types of membership in the Kentucky Horse Council:
Memberships run from January 1st until December 31st, and there are no pro-rated membership fees.
All memberships receive the following benefits:
Below are the descriptions and additional benefits for each membership type.
MEMBERSHIP FEE: FREE
AFFILIATE: Anyone who is an employee or member of an association, business, farm, or non-profit that has joined the Kentucky Horse Council may also join KHC for free. Once your organization has joined KHC, you are able to join online or mail in a form, with your organization's name listed, and you will then have a free affiliate membership. Affiliate members are non-voting.
Please note: The $1M Personal Excess Liability Insurance Policy is only available for paid individual & family memberships.
MEMBERSHIP FEES: $35 Individual, $55 Family
This membership is for those who would like KHC membership and its benefits for their own personal horse activities.
The Individual and Family memberships include a $1M Excess Personal Liability Insurance Policy
This policy protects you and your family from liability in the event that your horse causes injury or damage to another person or property, and legal action results. This covers ALL personal (non-commercial) horses you own, under a single policy, and covers you anywhere in the United States, not just Kentucky. Disclaimer: This service is provided by Equisure, Inc. in cooperation with KHC. This program is not a source of revenue for the KHC. Association Resource Group Purchasing Group has arranged coverage with Certain Underwriters at Lloyd's, London using Equisure, Inc. as the agent.

Each individual membership is entitled to one vote.
Family memberships are entitled to up to two votes whose names shall be recorded on the membership form annually. Voting members must be eighteen years of age or older and each family member is entitled to only one vote.
Youth includes anyone under 18 years of age and college students. This membership is a non-voting membership.
MEMBERSHIP FEES: VARIES ON SIZE OF ORGANIZATION, SEE TABLES BELOW
This membership is open to all for profit wholesale or retail businesses, professionals, for profit farms and other businesses. Tack stores, veterinary clinics, feed stores, equine consultants, breeding and training farms and many more equine related entities are business or farm members with the Kentucky Horse Council.
As a business or farm member, you receive the additional benefits:
Business members are classified as small, medium, large business or corporate members based on the number of employees. Business members are non-voting.
MEMBERSHIP FEES: VARIES, SEE TABLE BELOW
This membership is open to any non-profit organization, including governmental units. The non-profit does not need to be an equine organization. Non-Profit members must be an equine organization with 501(c)_ status with the Commonwealth of Kentucky and/or the federal government. Non-Profit Members are non-voting.
In addition to the benefits listed at the top of this page, nonprofit or association memberships receive the following benefits:
A Lifetime Membership leaves a legacy of support to KHC helping us develop and protect the equine community through our events and awards. A Lifetime Membership is about the connection horses bring to family, friends and fans in Kentucky. They also make great gifts for children, grandchildren or that special horse person in your life – ensuring that they will enjoy a lifelong connection to Kentucky horses.
The lifetime member is responsible for updating the KHC for changes in contact information. Each lifetime member that is 18 years of age or older are entitled to one vote.

MEMBERSHIP FEE: FREE
Youth and College students are eligible for a KHC Youth membership. Youth members need to be 18 years or younger as of January 1st of the membership year.
