KHC VITALS^TM Program


		Through the VITALS^TM program, the Kentucky Horse Council seeks to support and promote informed, communicative veterinary client relationships. The goal of VITALS^TM is for every horse barn to be equipped with a stethoscope and thermometer and the skills to use both. Each VITALS^TM kit contains: Stethoscope (with vital range guideline) Digital Thermometer 18" X 22" Laminated Educational Poster 8 page Educational Booklet Convenient Storage Bag Listing of Recommended First Aid Kit Items Horse owners should work with their veterinarian to learn how to properly assess vital signs. Recognizing the normal vital sign ranges (and deviations) for each individual horse is paramount in identifying the onset of illness.
