Volunteer at the 2010 World Equestrian Games!

Thank you to all who submitted volunteer applications.  Selected volunteers have been notified of their schedules for the KHC booth.
The Booth:
The Kentucky Horse Council will be hosting a booth in the Equine Village of the World Equestrian Games.  Our booth will be open all 16 days from approximately 9a.m. to 8p.m.

The theme of the booth is "Horses of Kentucky" with the goal of representing all breeds, disciplines, equine businesses and associations that are in Kentucky. The booth will have brochure racks, walk-up equine database search computers, and a full schedule of demonstrations and presentations.
 Volunteering for the Booth:
Staffing for the booth will be one KHC staff member and two member volunteers at all times.  Because of the long days, we will work in shifts.  If you work a shift you are welcome to spend the rest of the day visiting the General Admissions area.  (Tickets for competition events are sold separately.)

Volunteer shifts will be 6 hours.  First Shift: 8:30 am to 2:30pm.  Second Shift: 2:30pm to 8:30pm.
In exchange for your service, each volunteer will receive:
  • A general admission ticket to the WEG for the days you have selected to work
  • Kentucky Horse Council Shirt
  • Per diem for meals
  • Free parking and transportation to the Kentucky Horse Park grounds
  • Ability to stay at the horse park after a shift is finished to view the events
ALL booth volunteers met the following requirements:
  • Member of the Kentucky Horse Council
  • Must be 18 years or older to volunteer.
  • Must submit to a Homeland Security Background Check
  • Must have a working email address. The majority of communications will come to you via email.
  • Need to commit to at least three days of service, one shift per day.
  • Required to attend one half-day orientation session in August.  There will be two options:
    • Monday, August 23, from 5:00pm to 9:00pm
    • Saturday, August 28, from 8:30am to 12:30pm
Thank you to all, we appreciate all volunteers for the Kentucky Horse Council!
