Youth Program Support

 

Hippology / Horse Bowl Kit Grants

$250 grants are awarded to 4-H, Pony Club, FFA, and other youth Horse Clubs in Kentucky for the sole purpose of purchasing a Horse Learning Laboratory Kit from the Ohio State University; or similar horse bowl/hippology materials from another source, subject to approval by the Kentucky Horse Council (KHC). 
 
Deadline to apply for 2012 is:  June 1st
 

Showmanship Awards

 
The Kentucky Horse Council supplies prizes for Showmanship Champions and Reserve Champions annually at the 4-H State Show.  Past prizes have included leather halters, books, grooming supplies, and more. 
 
First Place 2009 Showmanship Winners received an embroidered bridle bag.  Second Place 2009 Showmanship Winners received 

 

an embroidered tote. Both are pictured to the right.
 
First Place 2010 Showmanship Winners received an embroidered garment bag and second place winners received a Horse College book.
