The Kentucky Horse Council, through financial support from individuals and companies both in Kentucky and around the country, manages the U.S. Disaster Relief Fund. This fund provides feed and other assistance to U.S. horses affected by natural disasters and other incidents. Assistance includes feed, temporary shelter and fencing, and other related needs. Donations to the fund can be made at any time and will be used accordingly.
Current Activities
We are working with State Horse Councils and County Extension Offices around the country to identify the needs of horses displaced by the recent floods and tornadoes. Many states have been impacted by the devastating weather this spring and the fund exists to support state and local efforts to provide feed and housing for affected horses.
