1 Equine was confirmed earlier this week as being affected with West Nile virus

In LEWIS COUNTY

A  2yr STDBRED Fe  - EUTHANIZED

Onset Date: 08/16/25    Down unable to rise - Euthanized 8/18

Vaccination: No WNV Vacc History,

The Department of Agriculture's Equine West Nile page has been updated to include this 3^rd confirmed equine WNv for 2025 and the summary information has been posted on the Equine Disease Communication Center’s web page

None of the three horses had been vaccinated..
