Livestock Investigation Training
The Kentucky Horse Council provides Livestock Investigation Training to Animal Control Officers, Sheriffs, and other Kentucky law enforcement officials and prosecutors throughout the Commonwealth. A Level I class is offered once per year, and a Level II class is conducted once yearly if needed.
Both three day courses are approved as Continuing Education for Peace Officers by the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training.
Courses include extensive hands-on livestock activities. Whenever possible the courses are offered at a Kentucky College or University with an equine and livestock production program. Faculty from the institution frequently instruct investigators on their area of expertise.
Large Animal Emergency Rescue
The Kentucky Horse Council provides hosts a Large Animal Emergency Rescue course with the assistance of national training groups and local veterinarians. This course is open to veterinarians, emergency personnel, as well as all members of the equine industry.
This three day course is currently pending RACE Continuing Education credits.
Courses include two options of participation, with extensive hands on activities and an auditor participant option.
Barn Fire Training
The Barn Fire Training is an upcoming program which will delve into the best practices for Barn Fire Prevention and how best to handle a barn fire if one were to occur.
