The Kentucky Horse Council will host their three-hour Livestock Investigation Training: Level 1 on December 13, 2023, in Leitchfield, KY, at the Grayson County Extension Office. This course is offered to animal control officers, sheriffs, Kentucky law enforcement officials and prosecutors, and those running equine rescue and adoption organizations throughout the Commonwealth.
Enrollment is prioritized to law enforcement officers; prosecutors and judges; animal control officers,humane investigators and veterinarians employed or contracted with a government agency in Kentucky (sheriff, police, health department, etc.). The class is FREE for these participants.
Attendees will learn how:
to understand equine behavior
to handle horses safely
to identify equine anatomy and assess body condition score
to identify situations that need intervention
to apply Kentucky statutes to animal-associated court cases
to examine Kentucky statutes and enforcement procedures.
